4-H World Citizenship - Kimono/Yukata - I'm ready for the Summer Festival!!

We went to the mall today and my mother bought me a kimono. Technically, it's a yukata because it is a summer kimono for the summer festival. A yukata is a casual summer kimono usually made of cotton. Evidently, a kimono works like a painting. You choose the smallest color and then you choose the sash/bow to match that color. You can't tell, but the center of the flowers are yellow, and the "bow" is yellow. The sandals have a little yellow in them too. Also, the sandals are not the traditional style, but are very popular remake that girls my age like.

Kimono is a Japanese traditional garment worn by women, men and children. The word "kimono," which literally means a "thing to wear." Kimonos are T-shaped, straight-lined robes worn so that the hem falls to the ankle, with attached collars and long, wide sleeves. Kimonos are wrapped around the body, always with the left side over the right (except when dressing the dead for burial), secured by a sash/bow called an obi, which is tied at the back. Kimonos are generally worn with traditional footwear and split-toe socks called tabi.
